DISPLAYS   AND   GRAPHICS

Picture
Here are a variety of Jewish Life Vocabulary graphics and bulletin board displays shared by colleagues! There's a lovely mix of informal (kinda crafty) and formal designs. Some of the annotations include explanations of how these were created.

Pay it forward to other Onward Hebrew directors by sharing your own JLV displays and graphics. Send sending a picture with a few words of explanation to [email protected].
ABOVE: Heather Erez (Temple Beth El, Boca Raton, FL) created a number of short videos in the Toonly app (no longer available) that can be sent to families in a weekly newsletter.  All may be found here.

ABOVE: These all came from Stephen S Wise Temple in Los Angeles. The three-panel display greets parents in the carpool drop off lane.

ABOVE: The Jewish Education Center of Cleveland's Teacher Center created this lift-the-flap bulletin board display.

  1. ABOVE: Both of the above were shared by Amanda Schwartz (Temple B'nai Israel, Oklahoma City, OK). One is the weekly graphic display and the other is a bulletin board with all the words introduced.

Picture
ABOVE: Missy Bell (Congregation Sukkat Shalom, Wilmette, IL) noted, "I created this in Canva using the Presentation template so that it will fit into a Powerpoint. The background was available as a picture when I searched "Hebrew letters" and individual Hebrew letters are available in graphics (but it doesn't recognize the names - you have to search for Hebrew letters, then scroll to the one you want). The tzedakah box picture was also available in Canva but you can import your own pictures. The only thing I did outside of Canva was type the word using the lexilogos keyboard, then I copied and pasted it into Canva, then played around with fonts until I found wone I liked. We do have the paid version of Canva, not sure which features are available for paid and free."

Picture
ABOVE: Shared by Debbie Morosohk, (Temple Beth El, Bloomfield Hills, MI). The bulletin board is complemented by a sign of their Hebrew word of the day. This is a screenshot from a video Debbie created explaining how she incorporates JLV (what her congregation calls "Ivrit of the Day") in her program.

Picture
ABOVE: Shared by Alyson Morrissey (Ohef Sholom Temple, Norfolk, VA). This poster was created by her "graphics guy." What a great staffer to have!

Picture
ABOVE: This is from Rachel Mersky-Woda (Temple Beth-El in Providence, RI) who notes they have a llama theme that's reflected on the board.

Picture
ABOVE: An annual calendar of JLV words, shared by Aviva Lev-David, Rodef Sholom, San Rafael, CA. [You may want to click to enlarge this on your screen]
